Just a Thought on Mental Health

We’ve all been talking about mental health and how important it is to talk about it to someone else. Thousands of people suffer from mental illness but most of us just ignore it and end up blaming the other person.

But sometimes, it is not that easy to talk about your troubles with someone. You just can’t wake up one day and say that I am going to share my problems because I feel overwhelmed. It just isn’t that easy! How about the one you share everything with just stops listening to you someday? Maybe someone’s problems won’t be big enough for you, but it might be a great deal for someone else. And today in this competitive world, not everyone TRULY cares about you. We’ve all been through several tough times. And no problem is even lesser than the other. You never know how a person perceives that problem.

So what is the solution? Can the problem go away? No. Can you solve all the problems in this world? So, can you stay depressed and let your problems kill you slowly every day? Again No. But how about we make an attempt to reduce the cause of that problem or help someone endure that problem?

It’s true not everyone can listen to our problem because each and every one of us has our own war which only we can fight, but how about through this process we make sure we aren’t hurting anyone. How about we make a positive approach towards life? How about we spread only positive thoughts? And this doesn’t include talking about stuff but also putting it into our actions. Help everyone around us grow. Instead of rejoicing someone’s failure, support them through it. We can make sure that we don’t taunt someone and say something which in turn hurts them or act in a way that slowly starts killing them. Make sure we don’t make anyone feel inferior to us, be it financially, emotionally, professionally or at an intellectual level. This doesn’t mean that once you are done with this job you are free to go. If you still see someone struggling, try to help them in any way, however small it might feel. Make sure to be a good companion in someone’s war instead of being a traitor. Have an attitude of listening to someone and make sure you don’t use their troubles as a subject of your jokes.

Starting now, let’s try to make ourselves a better person. Try our level best to not hurt someone. Make sure that we ourselves grow and more than that we make sure that we help others grow. It’s very easy to change our perspective and attitude towards a situation. I am sure if we all change our attitude towards a situation, we may be able to get rid of most of our problems as well as reduce the number of problems others go through because of our behaviour. We certainly can’t listen to everyone else’s problems but each of us can make sure that we aren’t the root cause of it. Make sure to find positives in each and everything and make sure that everyone grows to the fullest of their potential. Let’s not implement it for just some time but implement this for the rest of our lives.
